Welcome to Coda’s website.
His career has been an exciting whirlwind of amazing accomplishments for a harrier. We would like to share some of them with you here.
Coda kicked off his show career with a very exciting Group One win, earning him his first 5-point major, from the Bred-By Exhibitor class under Hound Judge Judy Webb. He is the only harrier to have ever done this. Three weeks later, he went to the Harrier National Specialty and was Winners Dog and Best of Winners for his second 5-point major under harrier breeder-judge Dr. Richard Meen, which completed his championship. He went on to finish out 2006 as # 4 Harrier, with very limited showing.
In 2007, Coda was Award of Merit at Westminster Kennel Club (under the age of 2). In March he became part of the Hi-Tech Team, partnered with boxer Ch. Dramatic Story of Sherryshoot JP and Kim Pastella-Calvacca. Coda finished the year as # 1 Harrier,
# 5 Hound, and # 42 Dog (All-breeds) with
53 Hound Group Firsts and 7 All-breed Bests in Show.
2008 was an absolutely amazing year for this exceptional young-adult hound. His wins included:
Best of Breed at Westminster Kennel Club
Hound Group 3rd at Westminster Kennel Club
Best of Breed Harrier Club National Specialty
Best in Show - North Georgia Hound Association
Best in Show - Central N.J. Hound Association
Best in Show - Potomac Hound Show
22 All-Breed Best in Shows
87 Hound Group Firsts
He completed the year ranked # 1 Harrier - All Systems (undefeated in Best of Breed competition), # 1 Hound, and # 8 Dog (All-breeds) and became the Top-Winning Harrier in the History of the Breed.
Coda was shown on a very limited basis for the first 3 months of 2009, during which he attained:
Best of Breed at Westminster Kennel Club
10 Hound Group Firsts
and was selected to be the Orthopedic Foundation For Animals' February Champion for Health. In June, he returned to the show ring, briefly, to attend the UKC Premier shows in Kalamazoo where he was shown by his co-breeder/owner:
2 Best in Show
2 Scenthound Group 1's and
1 Scenthound Group 2 as a class dog. He needs just 5 points for his UKC Championship.
Coda has OFA Certifications for Hips & Elbows, is CERF Normal for eyes and is a proven sire.
